Several of our customers are currently receiving emails purporting to be from the FBI or other official agency such as the CIA. These emails allege that the recipient has been logged on up to 30 illegal websites. The email contains an attachment that is supposed to contain questions that the recipient must answer. In actuality the email is the result of virus activity and opening the attachment will infect your computer. Please delete this email and do not open the attachment.
This virus (
W32.Sober.X@mm) was first identified by Symantec on 19th Novemener 2005 and has been detected by their virus defintions since that date. However these emails seem to be particularly widespread at the moment and you may well receive multiple copies of this virus in any of it's forms. Please see the following link

We would particulaly urge our customers to ensure they have current antivirus software on all workstations and servers and the virus definitions are up to date. Please also download regular windows updates and ensure you have adequate firewalls protecting your network from internet attacks.
